Prestige Estates community relations liaison Jo Anne McMeans gives residents a demonstration of the Charleston kick dance during the Rose Tea event at Prestige Estates Assisted Living in Tyler Tuesday afternoon. The event included hot tea and snacks, a bow demonstration by 1989 Texas Rose Festival lady-in-waiting Irene Epperson Leach and a show of evening and special occasion gowns from Ms. Texas Senior America competitors as well as gowns from previous Texas Rose Festival events. Several of the gowns on display hold special meaning for Prestige Estates residents such as the Pink Prestige Passion gown, which greeted guests at the front door and served as a symbol of breast cancer awareness and a reminder for women to schedule mammograms. The Texas Rose Festival kicks off Thursday at the Tyler Rose Garden Center.
